Practicing lawyer since 1977, Laurentino has focused his practice in the areas of Arbitration and Procedural law and Civil Law. he provides advice to the main financial and banking entities of the country, as well as to companies in the construction / real estate sector, and exporters and importers.
It is part of the List of Arbitrators of the Conflict Resolution Center (CESCON) of the Panamanian Chamber of Construction.
Outstanding speaker on Civil Liability issues (of the Builder, of the Architects, Contractors, Promoters of Construction Works and Technicians) before countless specialized conferences organized by the Panamanian Chamber of Construction and the National Bar Association.
Among the various public positions and special designations he has had throughout his career, the more important are:

Substitute Magistrate of the First Superior Court of Justice (1990-1994).

Commissioner of the Commission for the Analysis and Preparation of Proposals to improve the Judicial System and in particular the Administration of Justice, created by Executive Decree No. 168 of August 3, 1998.

Representative of the National Bar Association for Counseling of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Dialogue and Concertation Process for the elaboration of the Patronage Law of the Santo Tomas Hospital (2000).

Punctual advisor of the Civic Clubs which form part of the Board of Trustees of the Santo Tomas Hospital (Law No. 4 of April 10, 2000) for the preparation of the various Regulations that complement the Law that created the Board of Trustees of the Santo Tomas Hospital.

Representative of the National Bar Association before the Pro Justice Citizen Alliance.

He was a representative of the National Bar Association in the “Commission for the Introduction of Urgent Procedural Reforms aimed at speed up and improve the effectiveness of Justice”, during the year 2000 - 2001, which produced Law 23 of June 1, 2001 that comprehensively reformed the Panamanian Judicial Code.
He is currently assistant to the Subject of Procedural Law at the School of Law and Political Science of the University of Panama.
