Alejandro Abood Alfaro

Alejandro Abood Alfaro specializes in International Arbitration, Mediation, Conciliation, Banking Law, Securities Market, Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Tax Law, Wealth Planning, Administrative Processes, and Compliance.With a career spanning over 20 years, he has been part of prestigious law firms based in Panama, and currently leads the International Arbitration Department. He is distinguished by his strategic vision and exceptional leadership in international matters. He is a registered Conciliator and Mediator with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Directorate of the Ministry of Government of Panama.

He led the Compliance division of a multinational group operating in the legal and fiduciary field, establishing the policies and procedures for the application of laws in multiple jurisdictions such as Panama, the Virgin Islands, England, Hong Kong, and Belize.

In addition to his career in private practice, Alejandro held the position of Commissioner President of the National Securities Commission and Superintendent of the Superintendency of the Securities Market, leading important changes among them, the updating of the Securities Market Law through Law 67 of 2011, and the transformation from Commission to Superintendence. He was also a member of the Financial Coordination Council, the Presidential High-Level Commission for the Defense of International and Financial Services and the High-Level Presidential Commission for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism.
